This is a shot I happened upon walking the streets of Bangkok, as I am foolishly known to do (think what the city does to color, now imagine your lungs!) Guess even monks have to do their laundry sometime.
Of course at night you can't see all the dirt. Not because it's dark, but because of all the glare from the neon and fluorescent lights! I've taken this shot several times and like this one the best. Notice the photo on the driver's license . . . it's not him, and seldom is!
Another picture I keep taking over and over again . . . the old lady street hawkers of Bangkok. They spend the day walking the city, trying to sell whatever they happen to be toting in their baskets. Seldom see them making a sale, but it seems to be a popular occupation in any case.
Like Venice, there are numerous waterways throughout Bangkok and you can travel via water to get around town. Called klongs, taking a boat ride down a few provides a good opportunity for seeing how many of the locals live. Wonder if riverside property is as expensive in Bangkok as it is in the States?
