Few of the roads in and around Siem Reap are paved. Which makes for very dusty driving conditions. I mentioned before, but it bears mentioning again: don't be cheap! Get a real car and driver; enjoy the air conditioning and dust-free air. Or, instead take one of those picturesque tuktuks and eat my dust!

Ah, a paved road! This one is downtown, just off bar street. Colonial (French) architecture and the Cambodian version of a tuk tuk.

Cambodian Gas Station

While there are several real gas stations within the town of Siem Reap, outside on the way to the major wats, gas is sold roadside from vendors like this guy. No Chevron or Shell. Instead you buy a liter of Johnnie Walker!

Tsyourn's Kid Takes A Nap

One of the local industries is book sales to touri. Kids work the entrances and exits of the wats, and in town the job is handled street-side by victims of land mines. This kid spent the day with daddy at work; a tiring job evidently.
