Gemstones and the Chakras
| |
Chakra comes from the Sanskrit word Chakram, meaning wheel or revolving disc. These vortexes of power are the circle of life energies flowing through all levels of our existence. It is important to note that there are as many chakras in the body as there are cells in the body, but we are going to focus on 7 of the most common chakras. A common misperception is that the Chakra System or an individual chakra can shut down or diminish in power. In truth, they never shut down and are always pure positive power. When we are feeling healthy or in a state of well-being, each cell in the body is in its natural rhythm and vibrational resonance. You could say our alignment with this powerful energy system is unobstructed. However, when we are feeling out of sorts or “out of tune” our conscious connection to this power is what becomes blocked due largely to daily stress, early childhood trauma or habits of thought not in harmony with our true nature. The good news is that the body is a self-healing, self-correcting mechanism. For more information about the seven major Chakras, their associated colors, use and associated gemstones, use this link.
You may also work with a specific chakra or area of your life that needs some special attention. For example, you may use a piece of Rose Quartz on the fourth or Heart Chakra to open yourself to the powers of love, or to balance or improve relationships
