The ‘kid’ shot never fails to please. This is not an unusual site in Chiang Mai, in fact you’ll often see entire families perched on a bike roaring down the street. And they gave Brittany Spears flak for driving in a car with her child on her lap!
Buddhism is often tangled up with Hinduism when it comes to the gods in Thailand. More so in Chiang Mai in the northern section of the country where India’s influence was more predominate in history. This small Hindu god statute occupied a tiny corner of one of the wats in downtown Chiang Mai.
Two of the more popular forms of transportation in Chaing Mai. The tuk tuks take you directly where you want to go (with a bit of luck) for whatever fee you managed to negotiate. About 50 baht from the Thae Pae Gate to the night market area of town. The red baht bus is suppose to cost 20 baht per ride (though that sometimes goes up by 10 baht when you’re a touri). It too will often take you directly to where you are headed, usually when you or your group are the only passengers. If other passengers climb on, you might end up making a few stops along the way.
