Modesto. Well, now that Gary Condit has ridden off into the sunset, this is the current face of our fair city. Getting quite the reputation these days we are. But don’t think only murderers live here. The people they kill all lived here at one time. Cows do too. So did George Lucas who returned to his hometown for filming American Graffiti. Tore down Mel’s Drive-In, but put up a statue of George . . . that about sums up the valley way of life.
