I’m a skeptical touri when it comes to local attractions well known to visitors. So I was expecting the floating village at Tonle Sap to be a lot like visiting a hill tribe community in Thailand (where colorfully garbed locals sit about a small village filled with trinkets for you to buy . . . not that they live in this village, it’s their place of work.) And though there were plenty of trinkets available at Tonle Sap, the fact is these folk really do live on the water. This shot is of the local version of a 7/11.

Tonle Sap Vendor

Just in case you missed a previous shot of locals with bananas for sale, here ya go! Too many you think? Hey, you try taking a shot of local boat life without a banana in it! Cute kid though, huh?

Life on Tonle Sap

Local kids. Predominate color. Nice shot. Oooooo, blues! Now, look at the road - mud. That’s what lines the banks of the river. And you can almost make out the piles of garbage in the background, too.

Tonle Sap

One of the more colorful local houses, plus a boat vendor . . . all in one shot. Damn, I’m good! Can you find the bananas in this shot?
