Temple Offering

Oh, you thought you'd get to see some photos of Wat Arun or of that humongous reclining Buddha, huh? Nope, yet another shot of buring incense. Not sure why I'm always drawn to these pictures, I haven't burned a stick of incense since the 60s (which is a whole nother story). But here you go, in any case . . .

Wat Candles

And just in case you get tired of the incense shots, here's one of some candles. Not sure of the religious significance between offering a buring stick of incense versus a candle, but you see a lot more of the former lit than of the latter.

Grand Palace Lotus Offering

Yet another popular form of offering, lotus blossoms. I took this shot at the Grand palace in Bangkok. See, still not getting the wat photos you were expecting, huh?

Grand Palace

The Grand Palace, yet again. Shot this one with my old manual Minolta . . . a camera that actually allows you to set the aperture and speed. I like my new digital camera, but this photo would not have been the same using all of its automatic features.
